Just wanted to add, as a former LT80 owner, there is a drain bolt on the bottom of the stock silencer, I found the first time I drained it after I bought it , there was a rediculous amount of oil in there, almost 3-4 cups !! that stopped a lot of smoking and drip, but heating it up to burn it out sounds like a good idea, then sand blast it and paint it with hi temp black, it will look like new. Have fun with your 80, they are one of the toughest, fun to ride quads made in the last few decades, in my opinion.
