For the money, it's one of the best out there - nice, sporty performance from the motor, decent suspension and a good reliable 4wd system. Right now, the only other bike that compares well in performance, features and price is the Honda Rancher 420.
Yes, the KQ 400 is really an Eiger under a new skin. the Eiger has been around since 2002 and is a good, solid, reliable machine.

Dude i have the red kingquad 400 semi automatic and its such a nice machine. So much better priced then say honda, and so reliable.Definitly get it if its good priced. It is almost as comfortable as independant suspension cause it has double shocks in the back which is good. Its a full sized ( same dimensions as the kingquad 750 give or take a few mm ) just with a smaller engine which i like aswell. It starts up first try even in the -30 weather here its soo nice just go buy it right away i cant even say all the good things about it

Okay, I got it. So far, I love it, but who doesn't like their new ride? Being fully automatic, my six year old can actually ride it, although I put it in FWD-low so it doesn't get away from him. Man is this thing an exercise in simplicity, which I truly appreciate. Everything on it is easy access. Installed the included winch (came as a promotion) and it was almost a plug-and-play part. Switching from 2WD to 4WD is cake with the handlebar-mounted lever. I think the only thing I'm not crazy about is the cheesy plastic fasteners for the bodywork, but that's easily remedied. Anyone have any suggestions for those? I know they call it a 400, but the actual displacement is 376cc. I wasn't looking for a racing quad, just a reliable horse for hunting, but it seems to have plenty of guts and it's relatively quiet. Took it out today and I actually did better in the woods than my buddy. He has a much bigger Arctic Cat and had trouble negotiating some of the tighter spots. I guess in this case, bigger wasn't better.
