I'm doing some work on the rear brake of my 4x4 Eiger and I have a question. There's a seal there with a spring like retainer which looks like it is supposed to keep tension on the hub to keep water/mud/debris out. Is there supposed to be some kind of sealant grease that goes in or around that seal? Anybody know what I'm talking 'bout?

 

I know what your talking about, being that seals seem to be costly, and I could never get it to be completely mud/water free I don't worry about it. As far as I know the only seals are rubber ones, don't think theres any kind of grease.
