mine was a 4 speed with a Low gear, if u pulled up from neutral you would be in low, to shift up you actually pushed down on the shifter from neutral lol, so its 4 gears down, then i had a reverse next to the pull start i think also, but it was pretty weird having a backwards style shifting but i thought it was cool.

I kinda figured it was a low gear with 4 down I like the shifting too. I found the whole shifting from low and trying to go to the next gear dosnt work lol you end up in neutral lol. I think 4th gear is shot because when you hit 4th gear it rattles bad and wont go anywere just like if you were in neutral.

I have a 1983 Suzuki 185 we bought off a friend that has modified the engine. We want to get some new plastics to make it look more like a newer race quad. Does anyone know of any kits that would look good and not have to be fabricated to much to fit. I really like some of the quadzilla's and quadracer plastics but I dont want to spend the money and find out there is no way to make it work. Thank you

I just found plastics for this quad today.They are new but expensive.$260.00 each front and rear.They are online at www.babbittsonline.com They have a ton of parts for that quad.I just got one myself yesterday.I like the quad but mine is very hard to shift.You have to stomp the gears.I have to figure it out.Hopefully I can get the gearing sorted on mine.Good luck with yours
