I'm brand new to the site and brand new to 4wheeling. A hunting buddy and I just got a 2006 Suzuki Vinson 500 for our lease(first ATV for me). It has the factory Dunlop 25X8X12's on the front, and 25X10X12's on the back.

Help me out with some basic info please...we had our first flat(puncture, plugged it) last time out there. I've heard that most factory tires are 2ply, most aftermarket tires are 6ply and generally hold up better against mesquite thorns? True or False?

In looking for a couple of spare tires/rims, most ads name the brand of ATV they came off of...is the 4-lug spacing different between brands or cc size on the different ATVs? Do I need to stick with a Suzuki-specific rim?

Can I put the 10" wide tires/rims on the front as well as the back, to have the same size tires all the way around? I realize I can try the clearance by pulling a back tire and putting it on the front, doesn't look like there will be any problem as there is plenty of clearance to the fenders, but just wonder if it will affect the front differential gearing or steering?

Any other basic ATV/tire/rims/general tips will be appreciated.

6 ply tires are near unbrakeable, radials are even better but there heavy, any rim will fit as long as bolt partern such as 4 bolt(holdin rim on) some have 6 bolts, some have a wider 6 bolt,

 

aculy if ur just ordering online(rims), you just type in your bike and they send you them to fit, for tires what kind of terran?? mud rock sand?? and is it alright for ur bike to end up being wider, most rims are offset creating a wider stance(not bad for bike)

tires id look at ITP, MAXXIS, KENDA, id get a 26 inch tire if is shift driven and if its auto i get a 25'' stock size, i have 25'' kenda exacutoners there nice tires a bit heavy but perfect in mud, not bad on hard, good in everyelse, and they handle better then stock, ITP XTR's are a bit heavy due to redial,

if your not willin to spend lots of money on rims(250-300$american) then cheac out Kijiji.com, and Uncle Henrys.com they sell used everything,

 

forgot to mention, stick with 25x8x12 in front for handly perposis
