Default 2WD/4WD Shift lever for a 2002 Eiger

I recently had a small, plastic part break in the 2WD to 4WD shift (transfer) lever assembly on my Suzuki Eiger. I checked with my local Suzuki dealer and they quoted me a price of $114 for the entire assembly , when all I really need is the small, white plastic part that connects to the cable that shifts the ATV from 2WD to 4WD. I will consider purchasing the entire package which includes the cover, metal bushing, and lever if that is the only way I can get it, but I would prefer to just buy the part I need and make the repair. Here is a picture of the entire assembly:

Anyone know of a good (cheap) parts source or better yet, a boneyard where I can salvage one off a trashed machine? If so, shoot me a PM. I'll be much obliged.

Other than finding a used part, you are stuck with buying the entire assembly. On the plus side, the replacement is now a small metal cam, rather than the original plastic. I had to replace mine a few years ago - then it was "only" $86.

The classifieds in any ATV magazine will have several listings for used ATV parts - try looking there.

I had heard a rumor that the part had been changed to metal from plastic beginning with the 2007 model. When you replaced yours, did you ask for the shift lever for a 2002 Eiger and they gave you the newer (metal) version or did you know to ask for the metal one up front.

I'm glad they now make a metal piece vs a plastic piece so hopefully I won't have to replace this piece again.

I had them look up the part number for my '02 model and that's what I got. Didn't know that it had changed to metal until I opened the package to install it. IIRC, I had to replace it 2 to 3 years ago.

If you don't mind me asking, can you tell me where you bought it? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it on here.

Got it from a Suzuki dealer located in West Knoxville, TN. I had to order it so it should be exactly the same part as ordered from any other Suzuki dealer.

Pinwall Cycle out of OH is also very good. They probably have what you're looking for.
