Default 06 LTZ50 performance issue

Hi, my neighbor has an 06 LTZ 50 with issues. This thing will start and idle just fine, but from about 1/2 throttle to wot it has no performance and basically stutters. I have been thru the carb several times making sure jets and passages are clear, can't count the number of times I have adjusted float height ( no specs found yet, have been by trial and error) Have had it too high so that fuel flowed out vent to too low so it woul'nt even start. The only way this thing will even continue to run at wot is with the idle airbleed screw turned all the way in and even then it is still sputtering badly with no power. I'm at a loss here. New plug, valves adjusted to spec on the frame decal, compression tested at 140 psi. Have checked if any adjustment on slide needle, none found there. Any suggestions or insight? Anyone have the float height spec by chance? Only thing found in carb was slight wear on the float needled but it seems to be sealing ok. Thanks for any help!

I forgot to add, also have checked numerous times for any vacuum leaks, none found there either. Thought I should add that.

chances are low, but it could possibly be a CDI issue.

how did you go about cleaning the carb? did you soak it in berryman's "liquid death" haha, or did you just spray it out with carb cleaner and compressed air?

Yep, soaked it overnite in my bucket of carb cleaner and blew out with compressed air just like the other dozen or so carbs I have rebuilt in the past year. I have been reading some more since the initial post, it sounds like the CDI has a built in rev limiter and these things are pretty doggy out of the box. Mayby I am expecting this thing to rev up like a full size ATV and run like a striped *** ape. I do know this thing does sound almost exactly like a drag car up against the rev limiter. Any insite on the CDI and maybe how to bypass it?
