Default locked up?

i have a suzuki lt 230, the guy i bought it from said it was bored and has bigger jets.i bought it 3 weeks ago and have ridin a total of about 4 hours since. On saturday, i rode this quad for about 35 min then i heard a clicking noise coming from the motor. not sure exactly where it was originating, i decided to ease it on home. 50 feet later it dies and now will not turn over with kickstart at all. the motor wasnt knocking just a little clicking noise. any suggestions on where i should start the tear down? (i have never worked on a quad before)

hey welcome to the forum!

a pretty common problem with these 230s is the lower rod bearing gets spun (happened to me as well as many others) were you revving it out quite a bit? and how was your oil level before the failure?

oil level was and still is in the safe zone. i was in 3rd gear about 1/2 throttle coming up a hill when i first noticed the ticking. then after i stoppped to listen and started back up the hill it shut off like it was starving for fuel.
