Default question for mr lt80

Just picked up 1990 lt80.A few questions.First question quad wont start unless i pour a little oil in cyclinder first i belive this means low compression is this correct?second i pulled the carb off and rebuilt it but noticed the little black cap inside the bowl covering the brass screws is missing what is the function of this and will it function properly without it.Last i see on ebay that they sell a rebuilt cylinder, piston, rings and gaskets for 159.00 plus core.Have you ever used this or heard of anyone who has? Thanks

Yes, prolly low compression.
The brass screws are the jets and it'll run just fine w/o that black rubber thing.
I have indeed seen the cyl kit on ebay. The only problem with it is that you could send in a stock bore cylinder and recieve a maxxed out cylinder leaving you with a cylinder that will be no good once the new piston wears.
I can do this work for less $.
