Angry 1992 Suzuki LT 250 Neutral Problem. HELP Please!!!

I have a 1992 Suzuki LT 250 Quadrunner. I put about 20 miles on it the other day and it ran great. I parked the 4 wheeler for about an hour while it was raining. After the rain stopped I went to start the atv and noticed that I had no neutral indicator light. I made sure I was in neutral but the light never came on. Well, since the neutral light will not come on my electric start will not work as well. Every other light works on the atv including reverse. I am able to pull start the atv with no problem. I check every wire that i know possible. I tried a new neutral start relay and that was not the problem. I checked every fuse and that was not the problem. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks.

Quick update if this helps. I can jump the starter relay and it starts right up. How could this effect the neutral light not coming on and the electric start not working?

The neutral switch isn't being made, which disables the starter motor.

I mean the switch isn't working. When you shift into neutral the switch should close (make) and then the starter circuit and neutral light are enabled.

I appreciate it. I am having a hard time finding the neutral switch. My manual only talks about a neutral relay. Do you know where I can find the switch? Thanks.

Sorry, not sure where it is on your bike.

Since you mentioned rain before your issues you may want to check out your connectors for water also.

Thanks again. I finally found the neutral switch in my manual. I will tinker with the atv tonight and I will let you know the outcome. Turns out it is located behind the exhaust.

To troubleshoot the switch you could unplug the wire coming into the switch and ground it. If your neutral light comes on then that's your problem.

If not then it's probably your reverse switch.
