I have a z400. If I change the filter while doing an oil change do I have to change coolant. Don't know why or where I heard these systems were tied together with the oil filter. Last time filter got changed was in the shop during a recall repair. Anyway, I am ready for an oil change and if i pull the filter does it require a coolant change/drain??

 

No....your coolant system is completely dependent of anything to do with your oil. Under normal conditions they do not come in contact with each other.....if they do, thats bad.

 

Good idea to replace the coolent every year!
