lt230s sprockets and chain
#1
Hey I was planning to get a 13T front sprocket or a 39T rear sprocket. I was wondering if both the 13 and 39 would be too much and just slip the clutch, and what I would need to do with the chain to fit those sprockets.

13/39 is a popular combo. You might need to take a link out of the chain.
I've gone as far as 14/39. It didn't just slip the clutch, but I still didn't like it. Big front sprockets sap power. 12/37 is my favorite.

22" tires is too much anyway in my opinion. What are you trying to do? What type of riding? You could do 14/37 with 22's if all you do is ride on flat ground as fast as you can go. I like 11 or 12/37 with 20's for blasting thru trails, but I fly thru the gears fast.
I have 11,12,13,14 front sprocket and 37,39,41 rear. I've tried them all. The big problem is 3rd and 4th gear. You'll either lug 4th or rev 3rd, so that's why I like the lower gears so I'm not luggin 4th up hills in the mountains. And I'm not interested in top speed... there's no where to go 50mph+ around here except the roads. You could be the exact opposite of me, so I don't know what to recommend.
