I guess anyone can finance a new 4 stroke quad and not know the first thing about how to take care of it or ride.
I really feel they have missed the total experience.
You've tuned and tweaked your machine to meet your every need.
You know it in and out. The strangest bond is formed. When you
ride, your "one" with the machine. When you approach
the quad to ride you're engaged in the experience. The moment
you take the seat, your focused. You know the sweet spot on the throttle,
you pull in the clutch and ck your gear. You kick it with intent. It jumps to life! A shiver of excitement shoots throughout your entire body as the RPM's come down and it begins to ding, ding, ding. It pulses like a fast heartbeat and you're heart begins to race along with it.
There is a pucker in the seat as you tap your toe and it grabs first gear.
You're every maneuver requires you be in-tune with the machine and the terrain. You up shift, you down shift and you call upon the machine
to perform to your every whim (not always using the clutch but listening to and feeling the timing) . If something comes up in the trail, you respond and set it up. The machine instantaneously reacts.
The thrill lingers long after the ride is over.
(I'm quivering just thinking about it)
anything else is just a form of transportation.

she quickly learned to back off.
I got hit by the Zilla roost myself...took my breath away for a second.
it's funnier when someone else does what you've done.

Two 87's here. One i bought new in 87 and the other i got in 89. One of them is 530 big boar with a bills pipe, ported head and carb done by SCR. I'd post a pic but i don't know how to copy it from my garage to here. Good to here theres still somebody out there running these things. There still the KING. Smoke On

Thank you. I'm still new at this. I just got that one put back together last spring.
It was in a box in parts for the last 10 years. Boy i forgot what a rush it is! Never been to the dunes yet. Looks like a blast. We mostly bang the ditch's and hill climb around here or head to northern Wisconsin. I bought a polaris 850 xp about a year ago. Nice ride but nothing like a 2 stroke zilla. Now i just have to wait for the snow to melt before i can get it out.
And theres talk about closing the ditch's to atvs.
