Hey Terminus.....judging by your shocks I'd have to say that is 2004 or older. Unless somebody changed the shocks it is not an '06.
Can you remove the rear grab bar? 2 bolts on each side. The sub-frame is also different on the older ones. I think the '04's have the newer style sub-frame.

I'm still waiting to get the title for both the truck and the atv from the person I traded it from. It had better NOT be a 2004. I'll get back to you as soon as I have info. I have the VIN of course, I might try to look it up when I have a chance. I live about 200 miles from the original owner so we've been playing tag trying to meet up.

I think its a 04 as well. The 06 and up have gas shock resivors. Look in the VIN # it should have 04 or 06 in it somewhere. Let us know what you find out....

I vote '03.
Looks to have the old style sub-frame in the pics and there is an "03" in the VIN.

I just went and looked at both of mine and while niether says 04 or 05....the '04 has a 4where this one has a 3 and the '05 has a 5 where this one has the 3.
They both also have K4 in the VIN.

I'm trying to reach the former owner, if he's ripped me off like this, it's going to be a mess.

Thanks

Yep, definitely not an 06. I can set you up with a service manual for that model, check you private messages.

First thing I'd put on would be nerf bars.

THanks, I will. He's going to pay for this, when I see the title, I also know where he lives.

Just on the chance that it is an 03 model, take a good look at the frame where the front shocks mount. That year model had a chance of the frame cracking at the welds there and I think where the rear sub frame mounted. (not sure on the rear) Don't panic, they only did that if the quad was ridden pretty hard, and they make gusset sets to address the problem. It was only the 03, so it if is an 04, you have no worries.

Again, it's only a problem if they used this to seriously race or just beat the crap out of it. If you are going to do either one, I'd suggest getting the kit also.
