Newbie question about LT250
#1
I am a complete newbie to ATVs. My parents just bought a Suzuki LT250 (4 stroke) to use on their land. I dont know the year, but I believe it is a LT250"E". Ive done some research on the internet and read that the "E" designates electric start, is that correct? The guy they bought it from said it was an "early 80's" model, but from what I have read, they didnt make the 250 until 1985. Where do I find the serial number or year? I found the model number on a sticker under the seat. Any other information about this model would be helpful.
Thanks

if they are anything like the 230's then there should be a VIN plate on the left side of the frame next to where the exhaust exits the head.
write down the VIN number (make sure you get all 17 #'s & letters) and go here:
Suzuki VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com
enter your vin there and the site will tell you your year model and manufacturing info.

Thanks for the help..its not worth spending too much money on. That link does have some cheap wheel bearings that it could use. I can feel the side to side play in the front wheels, but they have been ran for so long that way that I believe the hubs are worn out because the bearing just falls out when you pull the tire off. I am an off road motocycle rider and I know that the bearings have to be driven out and should fit very tight on a bike hub, but I dont have alot of ATV knowledge. I am assuming the same is true for the ATV bearing. Does anybody have info on this?
