Plastic in Crankcase
Hi, Im new to the website
I was changing the oil in my suzuki eiger 400 and dropped a piece of plastic into the oil fill hole. (It was a piece of the funnel actually, an adapter fitting to make it fit into a smaller hole.) Just looking for some advice on what the best way to get it out would be. Tried fishing for it with a piece of wire. Does anybody know how much damage it will do if i leave it?
Thanks
Darwin

Don't say oh well
Either keep fishing with a strand of wire or pop the side cover off but by all means do not leave it in there. It will surely tear something up. Not sure what but I wouldn't want to roll the dice on it. It would most likely grind into smaller peices and then clog up the oiling holes starving the top end seizing the cam or valves. The cost of a gasket and an hour or two would save you alot down the road.

Sorry Scott, I failed to mention it is a manual transmission, i assume yours is an automatic? I looked at the parts diagram once you pointed that out and you are correct. It looks like on the automatic i can each it on that side but the manual is on the opposite side. Thanks for your advice though. Wish myn was an automatic look easier.
