Default LT80 electrical

Here is the skinny:
K3 LT80

I installed a pull starter a year ago, it works great. My kids have been asking to put in a new battery for a long time, so I finally did.

Battery is new and fully charged, terminals and wires are clean and attached correctly. The fuse reset button under the seat is in. Engine run/off switch in run position. Key is on. Brake lever is up and depressing button.

When we I push the starter button, nothing happens. No clicks, no starter movement, nothing. The bike will pull start right up on the first pull.

I tried tapping the starter, but it is not getting any juice.

I am thinking it may be the starter push button, as sometimes the sauter or connection can degrade?

Are there any other suggestions? Is there a fuse I may be missing? I hate to waste a brand new battery!

even if the solenoid doesnt click it may still be bad. you can jump the two big solenoid wires with a screw driver and see

That's a good idea, I didn't think of that. It used to get quite a workout before! I'll try that in about two hours and see what happens.

Well, I tried bypassing the reset switch, but still nothing. I re-checked the battery connection, ****ok apart the kill switch, checked the connections under the front hood and near the battery, checked the fuse, and cleaned all other connections. I must be shorted or not grounded or something. Arrrrggghh!

did you try just running a hot from battery (+) to starter to see if it turns over?

Try using an test light in starter wire, push button and see if the light comes on if it does that means you are getting 12volts to starter and the starer is bad or has problem to that point, if it doesnt burn light then soleniold could have issues, but you jump solenold and didn,t start, than starter is prolly not working,,, Please just try this test and get back with us.Thanks,
