In '86Suzuki had a few Quadrunners. I know they had a 230cc and a 250cc model, and possibly a 4wd as well. The "Runners had no or very limited suspension, smaller, different carbs, auto clutches, an underseat gas tank, shaft drive, racks, and probably a few other differences. The motor was in large part the same as the sports though. If the motor is any opther size than 229cc and a 4 stroke, it is a quad runner in '86.

This one is a 230 with a 5 speed auto it is 2wd and it has a chain drive the plastic on it looks just like a quad sport. Its weird this piece of machinery.

Well, this was a model closely based on the 'sport, but with the auto clutch, a rear rack, and electric start(LT230E). It was not available until 1987 though. You either have an '86 frame with the auto motor transplanted, or you have the wrong model year. Date of manufacture may be in '86. I used to have an '85 LT250R that was made fairly early in '84. It was even registered as an '84, but Suzuki introduced and sold them as '85s. BTW, BikeBandit has full schematics for this machine.

Pretty much the same performance, minus the manual clutch. So yes, the model right next to the sport.
