Default 06 Eiger 400. wont idle without choke?

my Eiger 400 wont idle or run without choke and i cant figure it out. I've taken apart the carb 3 time now. I was finally able to get to the air fuel screw and I put it all the way in and then backed it out 2&1/2 turns and its still real bad. once it warms up it will run with no choke but it pops really bad sounds like an 8 gauge going off. any ideas /advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you completely disassemble the carb (remove all parts, slide, diaphram, jets, float, needle, etc) and then run carb cleaner through each port/jet until the cleaner ran clear?

Yes I completely pulled it apart and put most of the parts in my solvent tank. the jets I cleaned with carb cleaner blew straight through them until a solid jet of cleaner was coming out of each. then next morning i put it all back together. and right before i put the jets back in i sprayed em again just to be sure there wasnt anything in them from sitting over night

The choke issue - Something is still restricting the fuel flow at idle. The popping issue - I had the same issue with a Yamaha Virago. I couldnt fix it. I finally took it to the shop, he took the carb apart three times - It would get hot as a fire cracker too. - It was in the carb though -- It was all in the carb. He was very experienced too. Finally got it but man was it frustrating.-

I think you have two different issues. It may be one thing causing both problems, but dont rule out two.

Pop the top off the carb, and examine the diaphram for holes.

Default 2003 suzuki eiger carb problems

I had the same problems. Couldnt ride without chock on, studdering, had to prime it then it road better on reserve. I cleaned and cleaned I finally fiugered it out. I put a size bigger jet on the eiger and my problem was solved. The jets they put in the eiger are to small and it was starving for gas. Also I dont have to ride with the choke at all. Now I do still have to ride with it on reserve cause the "on" is like "off" fuel dont flow on it and the petcock is fine. Hope this helps anyone who is having the same problems. It took awhile to figure out but I am up and running )

These Quads run lean from the factory. Mine did the same thing until I switched the main out from the stock 122 to a 128 main jet an turned the screw out 3 turns from soft bottom an she runs great. No choke in summer and it only idles on choke for about a minute in the winter time then she runs great. I also cut around 3 coils out of the throttle spring on the top half of the carb to increase throttle response. Seems like a whole new quad.
