LT250R Overhaul Project

I don't know about zukes but on honda'a I think there is no case gaskets just sealer. Not positive though. Yeah I love my trikes, I had an 05' 400ex but after riding trikes quads just feel front heavy to me. I guess I'm just used to them. And when I pull up with a trailer full I always get 2 different responses either man those are badass, or hey watch this guy he's about to kill his self.

Man don't give up on the LT if anything try it get it running good again and call it a learning experience, you already have it. I added a pic of my 250r when I started it can be worse. Does the carb. have a screw on cap on the top where the throttle cable goes? If so make sure it's not cross threaded or loose or the o ring s missing. Air can get in there also.

I duno dude that dosen't sound right to me, there has got to be a gasket there. Haha yeah that is exactly why I want an ATC 250R (or that yami or kawi one) just to turn some heads! At least other people in the pits will be looking out for you and you will be a little safer. It's been a great learning experience so far, so you did a complete paint job I can see? Have you seen my LT230S thread? Actually no my carb has the flat top with a screw on each side and it's sitting flush (maybe wrong year carb or after market?) Either way I keep back tracing to the last time it ran good and it was literally the end of October/early November during the cold weather transition.

Ha, ha as per the manuel there is a gasket there, good call. There all pretty wild machines the Yamaha tri-z is a good looking machine but I like the looks of the Kawi. tecate and it's suppose to be fastest of the three. I think the Honda has the best suspension though. I haven't seen the other thread but will when I get some time. Both my 250r and 350x are both frame off restomods. Gives me something to do just as a hobby. I used to race sand drag but my daughter is getting older now and she wants to help dad and the people at the races were getting too cocky for her ears, so I am getting into micro sprint racing seems like a family oriented sport. So far everyone I've met has had their family in the pits helping them. I don't really know what to say about the weather transition it rarely gets below 35 where I am.

I was always under the impression the 250R was king but maybe only in the TRX ballpark. I would love a Tecate but they are rare! Haha that's funny, cocky people I can ignore all day long. It hasn't been above freezing in month's here, I literally have an igloo you can park an SUV inside of. Yeah, that's a shovel standing up on the left side for size comparison!

FINALLY! Yesterday and today have been mid 40's to 50F so I pulled it out again and tested the compression, I got 165-170. I was feeling lucky so I started it again and voila, second kick with choke on it fired right up. Let it warm up turned choke off idled fine! I even took it for a nice joy ride, the powerband choked out kind of rather than revving up like it should. I had to slowly bring myself up to speed before I could wide open and get powerband going. So we are back to the cold weather being the issue??? Regardless I am still pulling off the head I want to see what size bore is in it and how the crosshatch is looking.
