Default '03 Eiger 400 no high beams, speedo light, tail light ?

Trying to diagnose why I don't have any lights in these areas. Fuses are OK; don't see any obvious problems. Wiring diagram in tech guide leads me to believe a common problem, but so far no luck. Any suggestions from more experienced folks out here?

All feedback appreciated!! Hunting season is coming!!

Thanks!

Tom

Could be in light switch? Do you have tail light and speedo light when headlights are on low beam? Maybe high beam part of switch is not telling any of those to come on? Can you jump the switch and see if all come on?

Guys:

Thanks for feedback so far. Light bulbs are good, just don't seem to be getting voltage to tail light, speedo light, and headlights do not go to high beam when switch is flipped. Low beams turn off and on OK. Fuses are OK.

Any other thoughts out there?

Thanks!

Tom

have you checked the wires behind the speedo? on my vinson i had a similar issue no pod light and no digital display backlight. I discovered one of the wires was chafed and broken. Turning the bars had caused the chafing. I joined the wires and put some plastic protection (split wire loom) over the wires to prevent this in the future.

Hi Vinny...

Checked those wires right off; all are OK. I guess I've got to spend some time doing a complete trace of the harness. Bummer, it's encased in that neoprene wrap.

Default Mystery SOLVED!!!!

Well, I found the problem. Goofy headlight switch is bad!! Play with it a little and the high beams, speedo light, and tail light work! Waiting now on new switch assy and replacement tail light assy (PO had broken it).

Now for a little adjustment on the rear brakes (so the foot pedal works) and I'm good to go! Also buying a winch for the front.
