A efi ATV with a dead battery cant even be pull started or run.

Not true on my Grizz (or at least auto Yamaha's that have a engine breaking system) all you need a downhill section leave the bike in run and in high gear while going downhill push the start button and it will start. Been there done that. As far as mud goes you are right no computer has ever been subjected to mud and frezzing temps
