Default 1987 lt230s help

I just picked up a 1987 suzuki lt230s. I have never owned a quad or worked on one so I am definetly a newbee. I have two questions, the first is where do the lines to the carb go, and second there is a hole in the head above the spark plug. What goes in there? Does it have something to do with the decompression lever? Please let me know. Thanks!

Go to the big thread 85 to 88 Quadsport Help and there is a ton of info there. I am one of the regular contributors there. And pics are always a good help so we over there can best point you in the right direction.

if you have an S model there should only be 1 line the fuel line. And is the hole on right side of the spark plug, up on top of the head?

Thanks for the response. I took pictures but I don't know how to post them. Yes the hole is above and to the right of the spark plug.

there's a paper clip next to the two green arrows above where you type your post. just click that and a menu will pop up, then click browse at the top of if and it will let you chose the pic from your computer.

So I got the fuel line hooked up, put fresh gas in, and kicked it about 20 times. It didn't even try to start so I pulled the plug. It was dry and didn't smell like gas. Is the next step cleaning the carb? Should I put it in one of those carb dip cans?

I also do not know how to get the decompression lever to work. When I try to put the rod with the spring into the hole, it barely goes in. It is also not the right way.
