How do I deturmine which 230 I have??

 

a 230s is a kickstart and a 230e is electric/pullstart.

 

check the vin as well. you can always find something to run the vin through online and it will tell you exactly what you have

 

If it is truely an '86, then it is either a 230S(sport model, full suspension) or the ute model(no rear suspension)

I have a "E". They started making them in 87 (according to the suzuki parts fiche).

 

Its a 86 LT230SG according to the vin and lable plate thanks for the help. Now I can get some parts. Anyone experiance gas in the crank case?

 

now im really confused!! ran my vin of frame an it came back as 1985 lt230s
but motor is eletric start/pull string,...an clutchless 5speed?? where are the numbers on the motor?? man i bought it from said it was a 160 quadrunner,...an feel like its got some borrowed parts on it...i can take a peterbuilt or a old chevy or mopar apart an put back together but dont know a thing bout 4wheeler or bikes....

 

either some switched the vin sticker or it was mislabeled. thats got to be between 87 - 1993 year wise.

 

is it possible the engine was swapped?
