Are all 500r reeds setups the same?

Default Are all 500r reeds setups the same?
buddy of my dads is in need of a set of reeds for an 87 500. RMATV only has they for 88 and up. does anyone know if they are the same for all years? thanks

They are differnt. i think the reed cage is differnt on the 87's. I have a 87 and every time i've bought them there always had a differnt part# from the 87's to the 88,89 & 90.

Yep '87 uses a bigger reed cage I never have a problem getting them
