Sand in oil reservoir--LT-Z90
#1
We just came back from a ride in some sand dunes and I noticed the young lads oil dipstick was very loose. ( I can't beleive it was still there!!) There is a strong possibility of sand in the oil reservoir. Any ideas how to flush it out???
Thanks
Jeff

take the drain plug out and drain the oil then use some clean used motor oil and run it through it to flush a few time to clean the bottom out then after it looks clean put new oil in and it should be fine the only worry is the bearings as long as sand didnt get in them you fine and when its running it dont make nose your all good

IMO, Kerosene is thinner thus it'll wash things out better.
Oil will leave a coating along with the sand.
On my trucks vaccum pump, it's oil lubricated (a drop every second) but they recommend a wash with kerosene/diesel fuel to get any crud out.
