Have a 97 suzuki 250 that is leaking oil behind the propeller shaft as it goes into the engine. Book says to replace oil seal you must remove engine. It appears to me that if I can remove the propeller shaft and take apart the universal joint, i could pull the shaft from the engine and then replace the oil seal. Is this possible or is there another way to stop this leak. pbeckkham

I'm guessing that there is something holding the one side of the u-joint that would make you do like the book says.
After looking at the parts fiche, there are circlips and such in different area's.
