Front or back? The front is pretty easy. First of all, try lifting the front end off the ground, this will make adjusting it much easier. Then you take the spanner wrench that came with your quad, and line up the on tooth on the wrench, to the indents on the top of the shock and pull or push in the direcion you want the shock to go. It will either stiffne or loosen the suspension. I dont really know for the rear, but to me it looks like you would have to pull the exhaust off to do it.

My cousin had to get his rear shock done at the dealer. Only the dealer can adjust it. The front, just lift it off the ground and use the wrench, or a pipe wrench

No thats wrong, you can adjust the rear yourself, I did using a large hammer and screwdriver! Do a search on this forum and it will show what calculations you need to make to set the suspension correctly for your weight.

Hmm, big hammer + screw driver + high pressure gas shock = sounds like a good idea to me.

Default z250 shocks...

K, gonna start off don't take the 250 to a dealer. You have to take the back fender off to adjust it the sorta easy way ( taking the rear fender off is a pain). You will need to take the battery out of the box it sits in,but take the CDI/battery hold down first(2 bolts).(take the cables off and putt to the side). Then take the heel guard plastic rivets off and one screw for each side, then the brake light needs to come off , their is two screws on the bottom of the fender ,support bracket for the brake light, after you get those off take the light out by turning it counter clockwise i believe, then pull the housing off the rear fender,(might be able to just take the light out of the brake housing without taking the screw off, i do it so no snags getting off or on)then their is two bolts by the brake light from frame to fender take them off and putt up on the rear fender and theirs your shock ,you can use the wrench it gives you to adjust your shocks front or the back, their you go sorry about being long but Ive done it a couple of times thought I would try and help.
