i am trying to figure out how to test the cdi unit, ignition coil, stator or any thing else that produces spark on my 87 lt230eh. any one know how to do this and are those the only things that i need to test. it had spark a couple of days ago but nothing now. bike would run but then when it warmed up it would die out and over heat. think it was because not enough spark and to much fuel. but now no spark at all

 

Sounds like your coil went out, you have a meter that measures ohms?

 

yes i have a meter. but i need to know the ohms resistance on the coil and cdi. also do i use ohms to test the stator? if so do you know what these resistances should be at?
