I got an 01 Quadrunner 250 that was sitting for who knows how long outside. The motor started up without any hassle and it sounded sweet! White smoke that smelled like crap ruined my victory dance though. What can cause this? I ran it for about five minutes to see if water got in the engine and was burning. Alas it still spills out crappy white smoke. What could be causing this? I am pretty hand with engines, but I can't figure out what could cause this!

 

dont know if this helps, but a couple months ago i bought an old honda trx200sx that had sat for a few years in a guys yard, when i first got it started, it had the same stinky white smoke you described, after letting it run for a couple hours it went away and hasnt happened since
