2003 Eiger 400 4x4 piston rod help
#1
Need a little info on this issue I have here. Well my pistol got hot and stuck to the jug. Snatched the top of the motor off. Got everything apart. Noticed the piton rod got hot and had some scars in it. And it is pretty hard to find just the rod. But I'm going to ask do you guys think it is bad enough to replace and if it will rattle if I don't. I would rather replace it but finding one is pretty hard right now. I've done had it bored .020 over and honed out. New pistol, rings, and wrist pin is all waiting. I have included some pictures of the scars.

If anyone has a rod in great condition and would like to sale it. Please let me know as I will be glad to purchase it from you. Not 100% sure how much harder it will be to put a new rod in. But it has been sitting there for about 4 months now. And I need to do something at this point with it. Thanks

Put the new bearing and new pin in the rod end.
If there is noticable slop (up down) then you need a new crank/rod.
If not, run it.
I'd bet run it.
I've not had the rod end go bad often but that don't mean it don't happen.

I'm going to go purchase a brake cylinder hone and check the play. As that is what others are using then check the play. I've gotten a parts price list of now. So i will see how everything goes this weekend. Thanks for the help.
