Yeah they are a blast... I didnt really believe some of the post saying to take off the air box lid... I did that and I can tell a difference in riding it. Been thinking of doing some extra mods for the power but not sure what I really wanted to do. I was thinking of getting different sprockets but I dont want to make it all power and no speed or vise versa. Id so rather have a barn/garage or something to work in, then I wouldnt have to worry about getting oil and such everywhere, which happened in my house but luckily alot of it came out. (Whole house is hardwood floor and kitchen is fake tiles.)
I wouldnt mind getting the quad re-geared or getting it bored out, but I dont really have the money for either. And I dont really know if I trust myself to do it at home.
I been looking at some aftermarket exhuast systems, but I dont know if I'd buy one until I got back working at the coal mine (temp layoff "Thanks Obama"). I was reading and I seen someone post and say they took out a bolt or two out of the bottom of the oem exhaust. Would that really make it have a power gain?
Oh yeah forgot to mention, I was doing some donuts in the dirt when I took it out and I knocked the quad on its side and threw me a couple feet away.. No damage visible, but I did take it alot easier after that lol.

When I bought my 230 the previous owner had already removed the bolts you're talking about so I really can't say...what I do know though is that installing the cobra pipe really woke the thing up (I think twinstacks will agree). The cobra exhaust is plenty loud if that's an issue for you, and it also does not have a spark arrestor, which is an issue for me. I've been meaning to fab one up but since I've been too busy to hit the trails I guess I've still got time. Other users on here say the 250s cam is the way to go, so that's the next mod on my list.

What does the spark arrester do anyways? And noise isnt a problem for me, I live in a small town where I dont really care for anyone. Everyone I met hasnt even registured their atv's in over 6 years lol. But then again you can go any direction in my town and hit an atv trail.

Scratch that I'm losing my mind...I've got the DG RCM pipe and so does twinstacks lol...its been awhile since I've messed with mine...I pulled it outta the back corner of the barn today for the first time in 5 months. It fired on the 2nd kick. I was proud lol.

It really doesn't open up the power though.

It really DOES open up the power though.
That's what I get for posting when I'm half asleep.
