2006 Suzuki eiger 400
Ive never owned a 4 wheeler before, and its been several years since I drove one.
Today when I was driving home, I seen the Suzuki eiger 400 for sale. He is asking 1500 bucks for it. Cosmically its in pretty rough shape. Its missing plastic engine guard on the right side, also missing the cover to the glove box, or tool box behind the atv.
He stated he bought it 2 years ago, it was a bank repo, the original owner got in some water, he said it took it somewhere to get it repaired. He told me he had new rings put on it. He states it runs fine, except for it just started smoking a little.
Also it use to have a homemade snorkel, parts of it are still there, there is a tube coming out just under the front seat, he says when its cold you have to hold your hand over the tube to get it to keep running, untill it warms up. Also the speedometer doesnt work.
Does 1500 sound like a good deal? Any idea on why it started smoking? how much is a new air box, or is their any plans on how to make a snorkel? What would it take to fix the speedometer?
Thanks for all the help

Sounds like a project to me. Water isn't always bad, but if it isn't taken care of properly it can cause all kinda problems. Plus some of those missing and broken pieces sound like it was ridden hard. I'd spend more and get a good quad, not one that will probably have you chasing problems constantly.
