I have an 86 230 Quad with electric start. I recently purchased a used starter clutch from eBay and put it on. I also replaced the starter with a WPS starter made for the 230. Here is the problem:

When I turn over the starter, it makes a lot of noise, and it doesn't seem like it is turning over the engine. Also, I can't get it to start after putting a new carb rebuild kit in it and a new o-ring in the intake manifold. I think if I can figure out what the starter problem is, it will probably start up, becaude there just doesn't seem to be enough gas getting to the carb, as the plug seems a little dry. Hope someone can help, because I have had this starter clutch off 3 times now thinking I mounted something incorrectly, but it just keeps making a loud noise and doesn't seem to be turning the engine. However, when I check spark, I am getting a good spark at the plug.
