I'm new to the quad world, I picked up a 1990 Lt250 quadsport and I'm having trouble finding a carburetor rebuild kit. Any suggestions on where I can locate one? Or do the Lt230's run the same carb? Those are all over eBay.

 

After a little more research, I found out the 89-90 LT250S runs a Mikuni 34mm carb. The LT230S runs a smaller size but the 85-92 LT250R's run a 34mm as well. Is this true?

 

I just bought one on ebay for 16 bux.

 

For the quadsport or the quad racer? Basically what I'm trying to find out is if they run the same Mikuni 34mm carb. From what I have read the 88-92 quad racers have the same carb as the 89-90 quadsport.

I believe it runs a VM26. Same as the 230. Different jets though. In my NewB thread at the bottom of the forum there is a quick conversation about it. JustRandy is the one who informed me.

Bummer. I was trying to post data out of the book but I am having trouble.

Ive run both carbs swapped on quads. I have the 230 carb on my 250s....and vice versa. Ive tinkered with the settings a bit but they seemed to run fine.

Alright, so I could get the 230s carb rebuild kit off eBay then just buy the 120 main jet and the 20 pilot jet seperately.
