blown head gasket?
#1
first off, i have a 2005 suzuki eiger 400 4x4.
I'm thinking i have a blown head gasket, although i'm not sure.
yesterday when i went to start it - it wouldn't start. i refueled it as it was low on fuel. still wouldn't start.
i checked the air cleaner box - it was full of fuel. i drained the air box, tried starting and it wouldn't start. i held the throttle and started the motor thinking it was flooded. it immediately started spewing oil/gas mixture into the air cleaner box and white smoke was coming out of the exhaust.
i checked the oil, after unscrewing the dipstick - it started spewing what looked to be gas/oil.
what are the thoughts on this issue?
if it's a head gasket - do you think i can get away with draining the oil, replacing the oil and adding head gasket repair in it?

almost kinda sounds like it. if your blowing white smoke that would be coolant. do not add no head gasket repair crap and try fixing it that way. your just asking for more issues and it wont fix anything just put a band aid on it if it works. do it the right way and tear it down and replace the gaskets and be done with it

from what i read - my bike is oil cooled and not coolant cooled. so the white smoke is what makes me question.
talked a guy down the road from me and he mentioned that my needle valve on the carb is probably shot and allowing to much fuel to get past the bowl. i ordered the carb rebuild kit and drained all the oil. there was fuel in the oil. so i guess we will see what happens once i rebuild the carb.
