2002 Eiger 400 still barely runs after carb rebuild
#1
I have a 2002 Suzuki Eiger 400 ATV. Its a beater that quit running about 6 months ago. I had the carb professionally rebuilt but it still runs really bad. Starts hard, pops and sputters at idle and only revs up a couple thousand RPMS. I don't know what else to do with it. Compression is good and the plug comes out dark and wet. Could this be an ignition problem? I dont know what else to try....

Try cranking the atv..pinch off the fuel line off while running.....And focus on the running right before engine runs out of fuel..If engine runs better before its dies than it an fuel problem.. If its run the same then possible ignition...Then get back with us here...But make sure your batt.and plug is good before this test..

Possibly, set everthing to spec., then hopefully the gas is fresh and you have a good spark plug, and are getting a good spark.
Make sure you have carb. installes all the way in the boot and clamped well.
If the miles are correct, there shouldn't be anything too seriously wrong with it, may be time to adjust the valves.
