Default Motor swap question from a lt250ef

I Have a lt250ef made if 5/84 that has a great engine and drivetrain, but the frame and everything else is pretty rough. I have two options and was wondering if one of them was realistic.

1. I found a pretty decent 85 ef for 300 bucks in a junkyard with a blown engine.

2. i found a 80s lt250r with no engine for $200 and was wondering if my motor from the ef is a direct swap, or if there would be alot of painful fab work involved.

Thanks a million because this thing is giving me headaches.

Altho I'm not familiar with either machine,IMO, def not a direct switch.
I'm sure with some welding/fabricating mounts could be made for it to work.

The 85 ef in the junkyard, if it's a 250, should be a direct bolt in with the engine you have. you're 84 is likely an early 85 model. only difference between 85-86 e, ef, ef was internal gearing and a couple other very minor things engine wise. efg model just had some more accessories on it. (talking all LT 250 versions of the 85-86 quadrunner) if you decide not to use the engine you have, please pm me!
The 250 R engine has a totally different mounting layout.
