Just salvaged this quad from the scrap yard and its in very decent shape. I see the stator cover was broken from the chain. I could only get it to roll when i engaged the clutch. I put the cover back on to see if i could use the shifter lever to change gears but it wont move up or down at all. Reverse lever doesnt move either. DO you think this trans is beyond repair from an investment or just possibly needs to be slide back into position. Other than a full disassemble any simple things to check?
There is a fella here who just bought a LT230 for parts other than the engine, maybe he would want to barter/sell the engine.
I would like to keep the quad for the MRS as she is not to keen on the trikes but likes the suzuki 4 tire option. If i cant keep it original there is the possibilty of putting in the honda engine and have the automatic option for her.

 

I seen a lt230s on Craigslist for sale in New Jersey n it had a Honda 185cc motor,pull n electric start on it.
So it looks like that Honda engine will work.
I think it was auto clutch n manual shift.
