I am working on a King Quad 450 that has a fuel pump issue. It is showing code C41 - fuel pump control system. I have removed the relay and tested it and it is good. When I turn on the key the relay clicks as it should but the fuel pump does no prime. Manuel says to replace the ECM at this point but wanted to make sure there wasn't something else to look at before I start throwing parts at the thing. Is there an easy way to test the fuel pump directly?

 

Yes, remove the rear plastics and connect a battery to two of the wires in the socket on top of the pump assembly in the fuel tank. Which two? without the book I can't remember, two wires go to the pump and two to the sender unit for the fuel gauge so it should be easy to check with the wiring diagram, or remove the unit and take a look. That requires removal of the tank.
