We Test the 2016 Kingquad 750

That's good to hear, many dealers charge outrageous rates to get simple work done. My friend is about to get the first service done on his Outlander 450L at the dealer and they quoted him about $150 to get it done. But since he doesn't want to void the warranty, he's just going to pay it to be safe.

Warranties mean nothing in Canada. They are only 6 months long and are over before you know it.
Some people buy ATVs in the late fall and the warranties run out while they are parked all winter in a shed or garage.

My friend opted for the 5 year extended warranty. Cost extra since he bought it after Can-Am discontinued the free warranty, just missed out on that. Polaris was offering a free 5 year warranty on 2015 Sportsman 570 models for a while too. Ironically the dealer is both a Can-Am and Polaris dealer but he liked the Outlander better than the Sportsman models. I'm sure the free Polaris warranty has ended as well, that's about a $900 freebie.

"when does a valve adjustment get done?"
Not at the first service. Truth is, rockers are such a pain to get at on most utility quads that we do it if the top end of the engine is getting noisy, or if compression is down. On Yam 80s I tend to check at every service as their clearances close up and they become bad to start, but on most of the utility quads, the clearance gets bigger, so they just start to get valve clatter.

I know Can-Am earlier this year was offering their free 5 year warranty but my friend bought his Outlander in June and they had already stopped. Polaris was only offering it on the Sportsman 570 and if they bought it this spring, that was too early for the free warranty. And perhaps it was only offered in the U.S., not sure if Canadian buyers got it too. Looks like now they're offering rebates on all the models, Sportsman 570 gets a $600 rebate. You get a free 3 year warranty on Ranger 900's but that's the only free warranty I see now.
