Default Eiger Automatic Sticky Shift Lever

I own a lightly used Eiger 400 (2007) with less than 500 miles. The trouble I am having is the shift level is sticking making it difficult for my grandson to shift from L to H to N to R. Any suggestions?

The lever goes to a long cable which fits onto a short lever on the left hand engine case. If you are lucky, it may be a sticky cable. Take it off at the engine end and see if it is still stiff. Lubrication might help, but you could need a new cable. Check the control lever mechanism too, it is quite complex, with that press button in the ****.

Also, try reducing the warm idle speed and ensure the choke is fully off. These are often difficult to shift if idle rpm is too high.
