Default 1989 LT250S Cylinder/Piston

Hey guys,
I bought a 89 lt250s with a scored cylinder wall and piston. Little did I know that this model is somewhat of a unicorn haha.
I've been trying to find a cylinder and new piston to no avail...
Which brings me to my question. Would any other model/year top end bolt to the cases? What about if I were to bore it, what piston kit would work, I don't see piston kits on ebay that are listed for the 250s.
If neither of the options above would work, can I just put a 250r engine in it without any crazy mods?
Thanks in advance,
Sebastian

Go to some atv parts site and look up the machine part fiche's.
You can go from machine to machine and see if part numbers are the same.
I just looked, it seems that all parts are available from Suzuki.
You can bore the cylinder and get a .05 over piston/rings.

Awesome thank you. I bought a .020" over piston kit (namura?) With all gaskets and rings and whatever else I needed.
I'm trying to figure out why exactly it failed in the first place though. The crank has no up and down movement but a slight side to side. I was told this is normal.
How would I test the oil pump on these things?
Thank you

The most common cause of piston seizure is no oil in the sump, the other is overheating. This can happen if the bike is run flat out, particularly in low gear pulling a trailer. Or left idling, with no cooling air moving past the fins, the engine soon gets hot.

Roller bearing engines don't have high oil pressure, if oil is circulating to the top of the engine, and feeding the rockers and cam, you have enough oil pressure.

Ah OK... The guy I got it from said it was smoking, but he rode it like that a bit, and I guess it gave up on him.
I don't know what the mechanic told him it would cost him to fix it, because he gave it to me for next to nothing. As far as I can tell, transmission is good, crank is good. Magneto cover is shot, the shifter shaft was welded with the shifter linkage (I cut that all off so I can take the cover off)
So far I got shifter linkage, shifter shaft, the piston kit, and I am looking at buying a magneto cover. 150 bucks though for the cover kind of makes me want to try and seal the broken/welded one haha.
I just don't want to put it all together after machining the jug just to score it again I guess. Trying not to split the cases

Oh and I forgot. No one makes a new sleeve for the 250s's... so I called a company in LA that would make a custom one but they want 170 for the sleeve and another 100 to install it. Pricey, but at least I know that it can be done.
