Default LT230/160 questions

Well basically I have a 160 engine and the chance to get a full rolling 230 chassis that needs an engine. Does anyone know if the engine will bolt right in? I couldn't find specific info on the topic but after looking up pics on eBay and comparing the 230 to my 160, the engine mounts look the same. I have everything to swap it in. It's just going to be a beater for around the house with yard work etc. Any input is appreciated.

This is most likely a topic that few...if any would know the answer to unless that particular person has done the swap. Just give it a try and if it works, get back on here and let everyone know....and we can all learn...

Thanks. I'll be taking a better look at it over the next couple days but just a quick glance it does seem possible. The motor mounts are definitely different but it looks like my engine has an extra bolt hole for the top mount that the 230 has. The 160 has a front bracket/mount. I'll post an update when I find out more and possibly some pics if anyone is interested.

It's been quite awhile but I want everyone to know the Suzuki 160 and 230 are direct swaps. At least engine wise, I used the 160 wire harness.

Thanks for that, so many on here put posts like yours, then never come back. I guess many are dreamers, or never get round to it, or give up when they hit a snag, but a definite "yes they are swapable" means others can do the same.

Yea well I'm switching everything back over to the 160 frame lol. I have more parts for the 160 than I do the 230.

Default lt 230s

i am a proud new owner of a good running lt230. it runs good. it had a badly bent rim on it when I bought it. as I was taking the rim off I noticed the lugs or wheel studs were basically destroyed. i have been looking everywhere for oem or aftermarket studs and can' find any. in hoping someone here cab point me in the right direction. its is the rear. thanks in advance

They often only come with the complete hub. Because Honda 300 and 420 models eat rear hubs (spline wear) we just knock a stud out of a scrap Honda hub, if needed for another bike. Not sure if the LT230 studs are the same as Hondas, but studs from another scrap Suzuki may fit.
