LT-80 Petcock bolt stripped
#1
Hello,
I am getting a friends LT80 running for him and one fuel tank petcock bolt is stripped, tonight I hack sawed the bolt off leaving a 1/2" stub, I can see a brass colored nut inside the fuel tank plastic spinning. I have a few thoughts on fixing this-
1. fill tank with water and blow torch the thing out, lubricate the nut (no pun) and melt it back in.
2. drill 2 tiny holes into the spinning nut and place finish nails in the holes to hold it in place with many pairs of vice grips?
3. My friend has a tube of liquid HDPE plastic, well his work does anyway at $800 a tube and its applied at 300F... should I just run a bead of that stuff and go solo with just one bolt?
