Default 20 years of King Quad Evolution

Hello,

I have been searching for an active Suzuki ATV forum. I have a 1995 King Quad 300 and recently purchased a 2015 750 King Quad. It's really kind of neat to see the difference 20 years makes in ATV tech. Here are a few details on my machines...

1995 KQ 300 13K miles
ITP Mudlites
Custom Mounted LT 3000 Superwinch
Uni Filter
Warn Provantage Plow

2015 KQ 750 PS 73 miles
Moose Utility Box
Moose Brush Guard
Kolpin Gun Rack
ITP Hurricane 14x7 wheels
Kenda Bearclaw HTR 26x9/26x11

Here are some pics of the bikes. I hope to be a help around here and have a good time.

-Eli

Its come a long way. The new King Quad is meant to be much more sporty. Wasn't something even really thought of much back then. A utility quad back then was for well, utility use.

Actually tec wise Suzuki haven't moved that far. The early ones had in and out of 4WD, diff lock, high/low splitter boxes and IRS. It could be said that moving to belt drive is a technical regression, but the 500/750KQ belt drive is the best out there. Fuel injection, I guess is a technical advance. The main improvements have been to put the engine in the right place and do away with all those stretchy cables.

Well, utility quads have a lot more power than they did back then. Irs makes them ride a lot better. Efi and power steering make starting and driving them much easier. Suzuki had to go to belt drive to keep its customers. With Polaris and Yamaha offering powerful machines with cvt auto transmissions, Suzuki had to follow the trend. At least they did still offer a few models such as the Eiger and Ozark with the foot shift semi-auto for those who simply prefer it. The Ozark with its small engine would be a lot slower with a cvt.
