Default rear eiger brake cable

Hey again old hoss here,

Got the old girl up and running. Seems i had a washer in the wrong place and the gears were not shimmed right. I really like this atv, it runs great and goes anywhere like a tank. still ironing out the small stuff like the rear brake cable doesn't seem to work. I've adjusted it at the rear wheel but it pulls out of the handbrake hole when i push on the foot break. Is it supposed to be pressed into that hole? the cable seems to be completely intact it just pulls back out of the handbrake hole.

Thanks for any help

The rear brake fulcrum lever has slots in it, so when you press the footbrake the rear brake lever pivots forward but the handbrake inner cable stays still as the end slides in the lever. When you pull on the handbrake, the footbrake cable stays still. The springs on the inner cables at the back ensure that this happens.
