ive been having problems with my suzuki quadsport lately. it runs fine in low throttle then when i get up into mid it hesitates and sputters then once i get it up into top end throttle it runs fine. i run 94 octane gas and have a mikuni flat side stock size carb and i run it with the airbox lid off. other then that its all stock. the quad smokes pretty bad but i dont think that would influence it any. if it is jetting that my quad needs, what size should i use because the carb came with extra jets. also, anyone who knows where i can get quadsport parts pretty cheap other then ebay, let me know

thanks
Mike

Its a jetting problem. Usually the main jet is for 3/4 to open throttle position but up it one and that might fix it. Or adjust the clip 1 or 2 notches to the rich spot if the main doesn't help. The clip adjustment will probably help.

For resonably priced atv parts you might try dennis kirk.com its a mail order house and they are real cheap. They will send you a free catalog or you can look up parts in the online catalog.Good luck!

DID YOU QUAD HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE YOU REMOVED THE AIR BOX LID? YOUR PROBLEM IS IN YOUR NEEDLE JET. IF YOU REMOVE THE TOP OF THE CARB AND PULL OUT THE SLIDE AND REMOVE IT YOU CAN GET TO THE NEEDLE. TRY MOVING THE CLIP DOWN ONE NOTCH THIS WILL RAISE THE NEEDLE AND RICHEN THE MIX. IF THIS MAKES IT BETTER THEN YOU HAVE IT, IF IT MAKES IT WORSE THEN MOVE THE CLIP UP ONE NOTCH PAST WHERE IT WAS WHEN YOU STARTED. IF THE TOP END IS SOLID THEN CHANGING THE MAIN JET WON'T HELP IN MOST CASES, SOMETIMES A SLIGHT CHANGE OF THE MAIN WILL HELP IF YOU HAVE TO MOVE THE NEEDLE ALL THE WAY UP OR DOWN. CARBS ARE A PAIN AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE ALL HAVE FUEL INJECTION--LOL
