Hi, I just picked up a 86 lt230s kick start version. It had bad coils so I replaced them both and the pick up. So my issue is now when I kick start it when it starts it hits the kick start and pushes my foot up. Its like the kick start is in way of motor turning when it spins. I'm positive I have the kick start gears messing correctly but I keep having this issue. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sounds more like the engine trying to turn backwards, they do this when ignition timing is out. I'm not familiar with older Suzukis, but if the ignition timing is adjustable, alter it to match the F timing mark. If it isn't, check that the flywheel key is not sheared, and that you got the right pick up coil.
