LT80 front shocks
#1
Hi,
Looking to upgrade the front shocks on my son's LT80. I read somewhere that the fronts from an LT160 are a direct swap requiring no mods. Like, they will bolt right on without swapping A-Arms and all the other stuff. Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone done it? Results? Any insight appreciated

Ah...yes, but the 160 shocks are designed for a larger machine & rider...so while they are marginally more adjustable, they are not a mini-quad shock...
Some will disagree with what I'm going to suggest, but I've tried a number of things and for the LT80 getting the Midwest Mini front shocks and making some easy upper mounts will give you an inexpensive setup that actually works really well...but that's my $0.02

So I do need special mounts? Where can I get them? That is unless the LT 160 shocks are better? I’m looking for any thoughts? Like I was saying, the rider is about 180lbs. Thanks

You would need the mounts for the Midwest shocks (so we think). Try em without the mounts. He might love em.

I emailed Midwest and they said the shocks are direct bolt on with no mounts needed. They do recommend their wheel spacers though for best results
